Kiosk Helps Our Folks and Supports Cancer Research

On November 1, 2013, the Covelli Centre and the Youngstown Phantoms hockey team sponsored “Pink in the Rink” for breast cancer awareness. The Kul Open Group with the help of the Little Steel Derby (roller derby) Girls sold pink carnations to be thrown on the ice when the Phantoms scored their first goal. There were information booths, gift giveaways and a chance to make a poster to recognize those we have lost to this disease and also celebrate our survivors.

The Touch the Moon Candy Saloon and Golden String Inc. have a satellite kiosk at the Covelli Centre to sell their retro candy at all the events and, of course, the Phantoms hockey home games. Elijah, Louann, and Rocco have the most experience working the kiosk. Some of the larger shows included were Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Seasame Street Live and Just recently The Legends of Wrestling Series.
