On Thursday, September 22, 2016, Mrs. Mary Thomas and employees of GBS Computers gathered at Farmer Casey’s Ranch to present Jimmy Sutman of Golden String with checks totaling over $1000.00.
Mrs. Mary Thomas (Andrew’s Mother) matched a donation from the employees of GBS Computers for the Andrew Thomas Fund of Golden String Inc. This fund was created by the Golden String Board and The Thomas Family to honor Andrew Thomas, a former Purple Cat attendee, who loved to travel with his family.
The monies in the Andrew Thomas Fund are used for any adults with disability to go on vacations or extended community outings. Those wishing to apply for the funds can do so by filling out a “Golden Ticket” on the goldenstringinc.org website. Andrew Thomas was an integral member of the Purple Cat and Golden String Family. Andrew helped solve many of the issues involving wheelchair accessibility at the Purple Cat at Farmer Casey’s Ranch. Andrew passed away several years ago, but his spirit continues to thrive at the Purple Cat.
